Dr. R. Senthil Kumar
Deputy Commissioner
Greetings to each one of you! Technology redefines more frequently than ever the way we do everything in our day to day lives. These changes are rampant and is rightly called disruptive technologies. The field of education is no exception. In today’s scenario, the digital world is full of lectures, explanations, resources and AI tools act as counselors. A student can write an essay and ask Chat Gpt for honest feedback. Right from career to mental well being, students can seek and find answers to their problems on their mobiles. . A teacher or student with the knowledge of technology is better than the ones without. So to listen to a lecture a student need not go to school. But a collaborative project that teaches team spirit, communication skills and critical thinking skills cannot be done at home. Moreover, schools also train students on socialization, values and to gain emotional well-being. While there are many advantages in digital learning, there’s a major problem. That is concentration. Students tend to watch many videos but don’t end up with deep learning. Hence we need to understand the current situation and learn with concentration in both schools and at Home. Students ought to take notes while listening to lectures. They need to practice all areas thoroughly rather than just watching videos at top speeds. Use classes taken by teachers well and further strengthen their concepts by reading text books thoroughly. It can be further strengthened doing online practice of CB questions. In order to promote student capability, KVS RO Chennai has created a portal named AAROHAN. It has students starting from Classes 3 to 12. This is the best way of providing opportunities for students to practice for doing well in competency based assessment. In this world of many options, we began with yet another Aap, AAROHAN. But it has an overwhelming response from the student community. I appeal to each of you to use this well and practice your critical and creative thinking skills. Also use available time prudently to gain knowledge and skills. You need to be better prepared to ensure your safe future. A journey of a thousand miles start with a single step. Come let us start learning for the next half an hour ! Regards Dr R Senthil Kumar, Deputy Commissioner KVS Regional Office Chennai Region

Kendriya Vidyalaya Aruvankadu heartily welcomes you. Winning any test of life does not always mean coming first. The true meaning of winning is that you are doing better than before. Our school, like all Kendriya Vidyalayas in the country and abroad, is also striving to do better than before. I believe that the greatest gift we can give to our future generations is 'good education and good values.'
